BlogTime for Summer!

Summer has arrived which always puts a smile on our face. July means that summer is now well underway and that fun in the sun is the recipe for a great time. If you’re like us, you’ll be getting out and about, enjoying the weather and all that our beautiful State has to offer in outdoor spaces, so whether you’re heading to the lake or the trails, have fun and be safe!

The first stop on our Summer to-do list is to celebrate the 4th of July. Our Independence Day is an important and historic celebration of all it means to be American and so we hope you have a great day and a deserved break.  Think about adding a pop of color and patriotism to your outfit on the day by sporting something red, white and blue. If you want to really head out in style to celebrate the 4th, pop by our store and check out our collection of red (think ruby), white (think diamond) and blue (think sapphire) jewelry. We have some fabulous pieces in stock that will do just the trick.

Speaking of ruby, we’d be remiss if we didn’t say a word or two about it, since it is, after all, the birthstone for July. We think that whoever chose ruby as the birthstone for July had it right! The stone’s hot, deep red color is reminiscent of the heat and the sun, and has come to symbolize passion. Does this sound like a good match for the July “baby” in your life? We have you covered for all your ruby jewelry – come on it and let us wow you!

We’ve also got an exciting addition to our inventory for July. We now carry the Seiko Luxe range of superbly crafted timepieces. Let us tell you a little bit about it.

Seiko has come to be a household name. It started in 1881, when 21-year-old Kintaro Hattori opened his watch and clock store in Tokyo, Japan. More than a century later, there are several ranges of Seiko from the very affordable ones you may have seen, to the “Grand Seiko” which is priced similarly to the highest horology brands.

Somewhere in between this huge range is Seiko Luxe, which we now offer. It comprises several higher-end collections including the Prospex and Pressage lines. These watches are mostly priced between $600 and $3,500 (some limited editions are higher), and come in a range of types, finishes, movements, and technology.

Seiko has an incredibly loyal fan-base. It could be said that in the watch world, Seiko is like “Apple” or “Android” in terms of its dedicated followers, with many owning literally dozens of pieces. The Seiko Luxe range is the perfect entry to the luxury watch sector, being affordable whilst not stratospheric. The movements are reliable and detailed, the finishing is always excellent including their legendary Zaratsu polishing, and, one of the most important things about Seiko that “watch-guru’s” know is that their dials are always incredible and class-leading.

We could talk all day about our Seiko timepieces, but don’t want to bore you, so we’ll leave you with this: if you’re looking for a new timepiece either for yourself or someone special, we have you covered. Our experts can educate you on the finer details of purchasing a timepiece and ensure that you leave with the perfect piece that you’ll be proud to sport on your wrist.

Have a wonderful July and we look forward to seeing you in our store soon!
