Custom Jewelry Our Custom Design Process

Do you have an heirloom diamond you’re wanting to turn into a brand new piece? Are you starting with a brand new diamond and wanting something custom made just for you? Our expert jewelers and designers can help make your dream come true with a custom piece of jewelry. This post will walk you through the steps of creating your one-of-a-kind ring, pendant, bracelet, or earrings.

Step 1: Meeting with an HPerry Professional
Once you have decided that you want a custom piece of jewelry, or even if you’re not sure yet, come by the store and speak to one of our associates, jewelers, or designers. We recommend looking at Pinterest beforehand to get some ideas of what you want, or looking at pieces in our jewelry case. One you meet with us, we will be able to determine together what your custom piece will look like.

Step 2: Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Our jewelry designer will create a 3D render of your custom piece for you to review and, if necessary, revise. This image is proportionate to how the final product will look, and can give you a better idea of the design.

Step 3: 3D Printing
Our designer uses that specific CAD file to 3D print a thermoplastic model for casting. This process may take a few hours or a few days.

Step 4: Casting
Our jewelers will use that thermoplastic model to make a lost-wax casting of the design.

Step 5: Finishing
Once the piece is cast, our jewelers will polish it, set the stones, and do everything else that is necessary for making it a beautiful, wearable piece of jewelry.

We usually ask for about 4-5 weeks on custom pieces, but each case is different. Any piece of jewelry you buy from us comes with a free warranty.

Come talk to us about your one-of-a-kind custom piece of jewelry today!
