Finding “the” ring…

Coming in the day of the proposal for the engagement ring is definitely spontaneous and romantic, and don’t get us wrong–we’ve seen success with this method time and time again. However, there is a bit of risk involved.

PINTEREST, PINTEREST, PINTEREST!
Couples of today often come in together to narrow down a selection of viable ring options. Over half of our brides have some kind of say in their engagement ring, so don’t be afraid to have an open conversation about it and consider coming in the store together. However, if you’re wanting to surprise her the old fashioned way–get some inspiration from her Pinterest! Trust us, she’s pinned a few rings here and there.

Now that you have the ring…
THE BEST FRIEND ALWAYS KNOWS.
Whether it’s her mom, her sister, or her best friend — someone in her life knows how she wants to be proposed to. Does she want an engagement party? Does she want to be proposed to in private or in public? Whoever her #1 is, ask that person. They always know.
GET A PHOTOGRAPHER
This isn’t even an option, really. Just do it.
MAKE SURE HER NAILS ARE DONE
This is probably the most important one, honestly. Call her #1 and ask them to take her out for a manicure.
DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE TRIP.
If you’re taking her on vacation after she already knows it’s “time,” you better plan to propose. We know that you know that she’s expecting a ring. If you take her on a trip, she will spend the whole time waiting to be proposed to. Don’t torture her! Pop the question and put that ring on her finger. If you make her wait, it will ruin the trip for her.
REMEMBER, YOU HAVE TO TELL THIS STORY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
Make it personal. Make it beautiful. This is the start of a fairy tale. Do it right: Ask her dad, get down on one knee, open the box and tell her all of the sappy things you feel uncomfortable saying. Don’t put it in the food, don’t tie it to the dog. There can be no margin for error. No pressure, but, it has to be perfect. And if you do it right, the pictures will be all over her Facebook, so make them good..
